2009-10 Initiatives
VOTE: Tuesday, May 19
Registration-
  • Last date to register in the schools is Wednesday, May 13.
  • You Are Registered If:
  • You have voted in a general or school election at your present address in the past 4 years.
  • To Register:
  • You must be 18, a citizen and at your present address for 30 days. Come in person to District Offices (Hilltop Bldg.) between 8 AM and 4 PM any weekday until Wednesday, MAY 13th or register through the Board of Elections (638-5172) in New City until the day of the vote.

Board Candidates

The seats of the following Board Trustees are up this year: Claudette Clark and Michael Lagana.

Forty-two valid signatures are needed on a petition to run for the Board and the deadline to submit a petition is Monday, April 20.  Candidates in Nyack are elected at-large, meaning a person does not run for a particular seat, rather, candidates receiving the most votes fill the positions open.

Absentee Ballots

A registered voter who can not get to the polls, or will not be present in the county on voting day, may file for an absentee ballot. Applications and ballots may be obtained from the District Clerk. Ballots must be returned to the District Clerk no later than 5:00 PM on the day of the vote.
