DR. MCCALLA RESIGNATION: NEW PRINCIPAL SEARCH PROCESS

 

Middle School Principal, Dr. David McCalla has resigned from the position for personal reasons, effective August 31, 2004.  The search process for a new principal, that will be conducted by the District and that was recently successfully utilized in the appointment of a new Liberty School principal, is outlined in this memo.

 

A key component in this process is the creation of a candidate profile, which will be developed from a consensus of the characteristics most desired in a principal, gathered from input from parents, the community, staff and the School Board.   We sincerely hope that you will take advantage of the opportunity to offer your input for the candidate profile, either at focus group sessions on June 8 or by contacting the District.  We will keep the school community periodically updated about the search’s progress via meetings and the District’s website.

MAY: Position Advertised

JUNE: 

• Creation of candidate profile:  Candidate Profile Sessions, facilitated by Superintendent, Roberta Zampolin and Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services and Professional Personnel, Winsome Gregory, will elicit from School Board members, Middle School staff, parents and the community the qualities and characteristics desired in a new principal.  If you would like to relay your suggestions for the profile, but are unable to attend the meeting on June 8, it is welcomed via mail, fax or e-mail to Winsome Gregory, 13A Dickinson Ave., Nyack, New York 10960, fax 353-7019, or e-mail wgregory@nyackschools.com.
