TWENTY ONE NYACK HIGH SCHOOLERS NAMED COLLEGE BOARD ADVANCED PLACEMENT SCHOLARS

Twenty-One Nyack High School students have been named Advanced Placement Scholars by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the national college-level Advanced Placement (AP) Exams. Only about 13% of the more than 840,000 students taking the exams in May, 2001 have achieved scholar status. Approximately 23% of America's graduating seniors have taken one or more AP exams.
Scholars are those who have taken multiple AP courses and scored at least a 3 (5 Highest scoring) on three of them. Most of the nation's colleges award credit or placement advancement for scores of 3 or higher on the tests.
Seven Nyack students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and a grade of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. These students are Jonathan Brown, Lucas Dossantos, Jeffrey Jaob, Jonathan Kaufman-Sher, Kendra Langdon, Elliott Lash, Stephen Neabore.
Fivet other Nyack students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. Congratulations to Zachary Center, Claire Cramer, Eliot Nace, Jaime Padavil, Christopher Rosenbluth.
Yet, nine more students qualified for the AP Scholar Awards by completing three or more AP exams with grades of 3 or higher. These
students are Prreeti Bendala, Anya Berg, Joanna Dickey, Jonathan Eliasof, Kyle Gilroy, Veeraporn Kullatham, Lennon Nersesian, Joanna Pluhowski, Christina Samal.
Nyack High School offers eleven AP courses and exams are taken in May after completion of the challenging college level work.
