Nyack Middle School Principal, MARTY FIEDLER, has announced that he will be retiring from the District, and taking a position as Middle School Principal with the Ridgefield Connecticut Schools, effective January 1, 2002. Mr. Fiedler has been Nyack Middle School principal for the past eleven years.
"I will truly miss all the members of my Nyack family," says Mr. Fiedler. "It has been especially gratifying to see our Middle School students move on and become adults of whom we can all be proud. New challenges are exciting, but it is hard to part with old friends."
Superintendent Roberta Zampolin says Mr. Fiedler will also be missed. "Mr. Fiedler's talents and caring have had a positive impact on many students' lives. We look forward to keeping in touch as we both pursue the creation of model Middle Schools."
The School Board will be appointing an interim principal who will work with Mr. Fiedler on making a smooth transition into the school. The Board will also be discussing the hiring of Focus Consulting Associates to facilitate the District search for a permanent replacement. Focus is presently conducting the District's process for the selection of an Upper Nyack Elementary principal. The goal is to have the position filled by the end of the school year.
