Friday, November 5, 2004 there were bomb threats found at the High School and Middle School. The High School was early dismissed around 11:30 AM, since the District did not know how long it would take to get the bomb sniffing dogs to search the building. The Middle School students, around 1PM, were moved to the Nyack College Field House and the police and dogs were nearby to search the building shortly thereafter. The students were returned to school. Both buildings were found clear of any devices. The District continues to ask parents to reinforce how serious these threats are and continues to cooperate with the police to locate the perpetrators. Families are also asked to discuss alternate plans with their students incase of an early dismissal - where students should go in case there is no one t home or they do not have a key to get into their home. Families will be kept updated. Thanks to all for their patience and understanding. |
