Free Universal Pre-kindergarten Available Free Universal Pre-kindergarten (UPK) is being offered by the Nyack School District. This is a free 2 1/2 hour program that is in session for 5 days a week for 180 days a year (school calendar) through funding from the New York State Education Department. Children who will be 4 years old by December 1, 2009 and live in the district are eligible. UPK programs are currently conducted at various early childhood programs throughout the county. You may select any program without regard to the district you live in. For a full listing of participating programs please refer to the UPK application. Applications for Universal Pre-kindergarten are now available. Applications may be downloaded from Child Care Resources of Rockland’s website at www.childcarerockland.org. You may also call Child Care Resources for a copy at 425-0009 x 0. Please submit your completed application along with requested documentation as soon as possible.
